One arrives in Little Harbour by car or boat from Marsh Harbour which is 20 miles to the north. Little Harbour is on the north side, and the house is up a hill to the south from the Harbour and on the ocean side.
The home is powered by solar and propane with a water cistern. It is a simple open plan that overlooks a wide view of the Caribbean sea from Bookie's beach in the south to the navigational point of passage to the north.
The flora is exotic and ranges from very colorful and delicate flowers to spiny, large succulents that grab moisture from the night air. It rains infrequently, but when it does it is in buckets and quickly sinks into the sandy soil. The plants are drought resistant or store water in specialized ways. The trade winds and hot sun dry the land by day. Renting a car ($400/week) is advised as it is 20 miles from Marsh Harbour, and there are many island spots to visit.
