Spring to Fall Winter "Lamplighter" is our new vacation and rental home in the High Sierras. 15 minutes to Major Ski and Mountain Biking areas (Squaw, Alpine, Northstar, Sugarbowl), and Championship Golf Courses (Coyote Moon Champion Golf Course across the road) and Tahoe-Donner (2 miles up the road). Designed and completed in November, 2006 by a local builder at the edge of Donner Summit and Truckee. Its craftsman design is unique. The home has many outstanding features and accommodations. It has 3 bedrooms and a loft, 2 1/2 bathrooms, a large two-story living room with a rock fireplace, dining area, gourmet kitchen, pantry and wine room, upstairs laundry room, double door 2-car garage, native stone patios, large stone entry way and stairway, and a peeled log balcony. Living Room with Stone Fireplace View from the Balcony View from the Living Room to the Back Yard The floors on the first level are natural hickory. The living room has a large stone fireplace with a wood burning insert and fan (firewood provided). The ceiling rises 2 stories and is met by a balcony with peeled logs running its course between the entry, staircase and the bedrooms, loft , bathrooms and laundry room. Large windows in the living room overlook the stone patios, woods and a large natural bolder. A stone entry with two closets, one on either side leads to both a stone stairway to the 2nd floor, and to the living room. The living room at the far end leads to a hall with a 1/2 bathroom, closet and the garage, as well as an entry to the dining area, bar with stools, and a gourmet kitchen. The kitchen with granite top is well-equipped with stainless appliances. Adjacent to the kitchen, is a large pantry that leads into a Wine Room.

The bedrooms have large pine closets. Continuing down the hall, there is a full laundry room on the left, and the master suite straight ahead. The large master suite has a view of Northstar. The adjoining tiled master bath has a Jacuzzi tub, a separate shower, a separate toilet room, and a large double sink area, adjacent to the master bedroom and bath is a very large walk-in closet.

It is 3 miles to Donner Lake where there is a private beach, boat launching, boat rentals, showers and a hamburger, hotdog and sandwich shop for members and guests. The north shore of Lake Tahoe and the Nevada border are within 20 minutes. It is within 10-15 minutes of Northstar, Squaw, Alpine, Sugar Bowl and Boreal ski and mountain bike areas. It has two recreation centers with swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms, an exercise room. There is a tennis center and an equestrian center with horse back riding. There is a ski bowl with lifts and a cross-country skiing center with some of the best trails in the West. There is a restaurant and pub. A championship 18 hole golf course with bar and cafe.
