Our Route Auckland Sky Tower Waitemata Harbour Maori Dancers Auckland, we grabbed a room at the Novatel Ellerslie Hotel and headed off for the Auckland city center, vowing to stay awake until late evening. Auckland is the largest and most cosmopolitan city. The city sprawls out around the Hauraki Gulf which contains many islands and the downtown borders the Waitemata Harbour The architecture is both diverse and interesting. The old mixed in with modern experiments with very little clash. We walked around the very cosmopolitan and homogeneous city with its very unique and diversified architecture, then headed for the Sky Tower Top

Waitemata Harbour [Sailing (America's Cup location)] The famous Waitemata Harbour lay before us. This is where the America's Cup was won and remains. Sailing is a favorite sport.
Saw folks sitting in a grand stand cheering on this international sailboat race (a first) At the wharf and had our first encounter with green-lipped muscles, outrageously good! Top Maori Dancers As we ate we were surprised by Maori dancers accompanied by drummers and a chorus. The spirited dancing lasted for two hours . . .
The men danced warrior dances and the children danced
